The
Oscars have come and gone. If you watched, or even if you didn't, I'm
sure you are aware that this year was the Year of the Oscar Selfies. Everyone
was doing it and we want YOU to be able to take the best selfie possible.
Below
are tips and tricks to optimizing your chance of getting the best selfie. THEN,
I want you to put those skills into action. Take the best selfie you can
and put it on Instagram with #alicatco
TIPS FOR THE BEST SELFIE PHOTO
1.
Lighting! This is key. You want good light; natural light is
best. However, you don't want the sun in your face making you squint and
look like you are crying. That's not a good selfie.
2.
Positioning. Hold the camera 45 degrees above and in front of you, or behind if
you're going for that shot. The angle is also key. By raising your
chin to look up, you instantly loose those extra 10-15 pounds. It
stretches the neck, smooths wrinkles, and hides the dark circles under your
eyes.
Straight on: old, tired sad eyes
Angled: younger and more happy
3. Obvious or Sly: Either take an obvious selfie or try to hide the fact you're taking a selfie.

Sly Selfie.
Maybe not super sly, but you get the point.

6.
Selfie limit
For realzzz. No one wants to see your selfie everyday on Facebook.
I think one selfie per calendar quarter is sufficient.

7. Duck Face: Do it right or don't do it at all
Capice?
Don't forget to put your selfie on Instagram and #alicatco
